The Atonement is Real

My dearest friends and family. The mission is passing. Time never slows down, and when you're serving the Lord it never touches its feet to the ground. I am learning so much each day, and each day am being refined in every kind of way. I just wanted to bear my testimony to you all of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know it is real. This week I had amazing experiences of the power of the Spirit, and the power and importance of the Atonement. When people mess up -- and all of us mess up -- we aren't lost. These stains of sin aren't permanent. We can truly be made clean again through the price that Jesus Christ already paid. Seeing someone who was trying to do his best, then tripped and fell hard, was difficult. But seeing that he is desperate to come back, desperate to be forgiven, and willing to do what it takes to get there, was absolutely exhilarating. THIS is why we're here on the mission. Not just to learn stuff. Not just to take cool pictures. Not just to baptize lots of people. We are here to cry repentance -- one of the most beautiful, powerful, and simple concepts of the Gospel. And probably the most important. Repentance is real. Change is real. To all those who read this -- there is always hope. It is never too late to turn to Christ. So turn to Him! He is waiting with an outstretched hand. Sister Petty
