The Gospel Is Real

I don't have to time to say anything other than tell one quick story.

For three weeks, we taught a 21 year old man named Adriano. He was wonderful--keeping commitments, reading scriptures, changing his life. He used to be a very regular drinker, and with us was finally stopping. After a lot of planning, we finally had his baptism ready, cake made and everything. However, at the last minute, he fell through, deciding he didn't want to be baptized because he wasn't ready to keep his commitments forever.

As I sat on a little stool in his tiny quarters (it was actually his bedroom), and bore my testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ to Adriano with my companion, I felt the Spirit so strongly telling me it was true. Although Adriano fell through, and I don't know what will happen with him, I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves us.

Brazil is amazing. The people are wonderful. I'm growing so much.

Until next time. I love you all, thank you for your letters and love.

Com amor,
Sis. Petty
